A PERSONAL POST - VET ASSISTANT

Where to begin ..
2012 was an emotionally draining year for me. I am ashamed and bothered by the way I handled things. Instead of being pro-active and trying to make the negative into a positive, I let my anger/depression get the better of me and threw a big ol' pity party. I wasn't the person I know I could be, and turned into this weird, mopey, selfish person. I hurt people around me and pushed the people I love the most away. I struggled with what I wanted to do with my life. I prayed and prayed for a sign of what direction I should go, and when I couldn't figure it out ... I would give up and continue on this selfish path.

All of that is over with, I feel like 2013 is going to be the year everything changes for the better. I have NEVER said that about a new year, I just continue being lazy and talking about doing all this stuff, but never actually do anything because I'm scared. But, I'm not scared anymore, I am ready to kick ass and make something of myself. I don't know why I never thought of this before, but I figured out what I love, and what I want to be around the rest of my life ... and that is animals. I grew up around hundreds of animals and always loved them. So why not make a career out of loving and taking care of animals? I searched the web for all the different careers in animal care, and came to the conclusion that being a veterinary assistant would be the most fulfilling. I enrolled in the Animal Behavior College and had an amazing phone conversation with the dean. I am so excited to start this program and start the internship on the animal hospital. I can't wait to help animals and their owners. I am excited to be excited about something. It is going to be hard work, but I am totally ready for it!

KIDS IN AMERICA - WILDFOX SPRING 2013

So, if you didn't already know .. Clueless is my all time favorite movie. I can recite that movie front to back. One of my favorite brands, Wildfox, used it as inspiration for their Spring 2013 lookbook. Of course I am in love with everything about it. I hope I can snag a few of the more "cluelessy" pieces.

BRANDY MELVILLE

So if you didn't know already ... I mainly dress for comfort over fashionable. I am all about plain, dull, muted colors and incredibly thin, soft materials. Anything loose or baggy will do just fine as well. I have always loved the brand, Brandy Melville. I would shop there all the time when I lived in LA. When I moved to Nashville I kind of drifted and forgot about the company till now. Their prices are very reasonable and I could put just about everything on the site in my check out bag. If you don't live in LA, and love comfortable, affordable knits & soft tee's, you have got to check their webstore out! Here are some items I just recently purchased and can't WAIT  to rock.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been such a stranger, I was gone for a while for the holidays, but I am back now! I spent my Christmas in VA with my boyfriend and his family. It was wonderful! Here are a few photos from my trip ....

The trip was amazing and I felt so welcome. New Years was spent working and sick ... not the best. I got to spend New Years day shopping with my boyfriend.

People keep asking me what my New Years Resolution is, and I guess it would be .. to be more pro-active and instead of thinking of doing something, I am just going to do it.
I hope everyone had a safe, fun, and fulfilling Holiday! Happy New Year :)

FASHION FRIDAY

Here are some items that I pretty much wear everyday. Of course, in a cheaper version haha.

MAKEUP I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT

Here are a few products I use daily, and highly recommend!

Benefit's Stay Don't Stray eye primer. This stuff makes my eyeshadow glide on and stay in place all day. I use it on my lids and under my bottom lashes, it also lasts forever.

Smashbox's photo finish face primer. I can't put anything on before I use this. It makes my skin look flawless and keeps my makeup looking good all day.

Makeup Forever HD Foundation. After you try this foundation, you will never want to use anything else. It really is the best and is so light & lasts forever.

Makeup Forever Duo-Mat powder. I usually put this on with a kabuki brush after I put the foundation on to give my face a more matted look.

Benefit's Dandelion Blush. This is my favorite blush, it is the perfect color pink and it smells good too, haha. I never have to be afraid of putting too much on because it is so light and give you that pinched cheek look that I love.
Maybeline Falsies Volume Express Mascare. I have been using this mascara for a really long time, it never disappoints me. I try other mascaras and always go back to this one, it is perfect.

Buxom Black Eyeliner. I am a snob when it comes to eyeliner, I am super picky and have to have it a certain way. I have tried SO many liners and nothing has ever really impressed me until now. This liner is awesome, its the perfect width, color, & consistency. It stays all day and glides on SUPER black. It was a great new find.

Nars eyeshadows. I am pretty boring when it comes to eyeliner. I love golds/browns/blacks. This eyeshadow has amazing pigment and great color choices.

All of these items can be found at Sephora :)

DOMINATRIX, ANYONE?

Ann Hathaway was recently spotted at the NYC premiere of Les Miserable in a racy Tom Ford black vampy dress and the most killer heels. I absolutely love this look (duh). I love that the dress is simple, with a few dramatic pieces to the dress, and heels with the most incredible spats I have ever seen. You killed it Ann! Les Miserable is my most favorite musical of all time, I could not be more excited for this movie.
